Things to do on and around Seil
Go for a walk. One popular route goes from Kilbrandon Church over to Seaview, returning by the road past the Tin Church to the crossroads at Balvicar. A longer excursion starts at Cuan and takes you round the coast again to Seaview and on to Ellenabeich by road if you choose. Boots are recommended for either of these walks. For a shorter but moderately energetic stroll ascend the hill behind Highland Arts in Ellenabeich to the seat at the viewpoint and enjoy the view down the Sound of Luing.
Play Golf. Balvicar boasts a challenging and unusual nine hole course. We have clubs or of course you can bring your own.
Explore the surrounging islands. Take the passenger ferry to Easdale and walk round the island. Have lunch in the Puffer Bar or visit the museum. Luing is a larger island, with a car ferry - but the best way to explore it is by bike. Bring your own or hire on Luing.
Take a wildlife watching boat trip. SeaFari offer fast RIB rides from Ellenabeich. You can even go through the famous Corryvreckan whirlpool. Sea Life Adventures offer a more conventional boat trip where the scenery and wildlife doesn't whizz past quite as fast.
